Gallery Exhibitions

To date 190 exhibitions of great importance for the national culture in the broadest sense, in the sphere of art and science were held at the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Major exhibitions under the Academy roof, are specific cultural events with their breadth, study approach and visual presentation, abstracting former knowledge in the most diverse fields, contributing with the choice of the exhibits, professional interpretation and attractive visual presentation to the education of a very broad range of visitors.

The exhibitions that are remembered are The Cities of Tsars, Lepenski Vir, Man and Stone, Monastery Studenica, One hundred and fifty years of photography with the Serbs, In the Reality and in the Dreams, Serbian Impressionists, Nikola Tesla, Ivo Andrić, Milan Jovanović photographer, One hundred and five years of the National Theater in Belgrade, From the Past of the Monastery of Hilandard, Mladen Srbinović, Petar Omčikus, Mileta Prodanović, Olga Jevrić, Official Dress in Serbia, Vladimir Veličković, Dušan Džamonja, The First Serbian Uprising and Renewal of the Serbian State, Boris Podreka, Insignia of the Karlovac Metropolia etc.

The Gallery occasionally hosts exhibitions of other museums and galleries from the country and abroad (exhibitions of Albreht Durer, Francisco Goya, reconstructions of Leonardo's drawings, photographs of Robert Doano, pictures of Cristobal Toral, two exhibitions of Italian art of the 20th century, etc were held lately).

Some exhibitions organized by the SASA Gallery are visiting with the other galleries in the country and abroad.

Besides the Gallery in Belgrade, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts has an exhibition area in its Branch in Novi Sad, in the old edifice Platoneum.
