Eurobank EFG supports Foundation for Studies of Sciences and Arts

Eurobank EFG and the Foundation for Studies of Sciences and Arts (at SASA) entered an Agreement on Donation that will be used for financing the operation of the Foundation for Studies of Sciences and Arts. This is the continuation of the fruitful cooperation with SASA, whose purpose this time is to provide support for young and talented people in Serbia.

The money will be used for ensuring the conditions for education of the young, extraordinarily skilled and talented persons and students, as well as training for stimulation of creative work within science and art. The Foundation for Studies of Sciences and Arts was established in 1996 by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Foundation donors were the leading Serbian banks, institutions and companies, in total twenty signatories of the Cooperation Agreement. The Foundation funds will be available to students with the grade average in the course of studies above nine after the completed second year of studies (scientific fields are selected annually) and the selection of candidates is made by the members of the professional Council of the Foundation, members of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, who subsequently become the supervisors of the scholarship holders. The Foundation has been operating fruitfully since its establishment and so far its program has included seventy top students of the Serbian Universities from various scientific fields and the field of music art.

Eurobank EFG has recently granted the funds that were used for adaptation of the SASA Internet presentation to the needs of disabled persons for the purpose of ensuring an active contribution to unhindered integration of disabled persons into all aspects of social, scientific and cultural life. Since its establishment in Serbia, EFG has been combining the strategy of a dynamic and successful operation with the contribution to the social community within which it operates through numerous activities and events. In accordance with this strategy, Eurobank has formed an all-embracing support program for the social community amounting to 3 million Euros, titled “Let's Invest in European Values”, distributed in form of support for health system, University education, disabled persons and environmental protection.

Part of this program is called Eurobank EFG Scholarships and it rewards best students in Serbia. The Bank has awarded 1250 scholarship in the amount of 1,000 Euros to the best students at the state universities.
