5th BALKAN BOTANICAL CONGRESS
The prominent international scientific gathering – 5th BALKAN BOTANICAL CONGRESS will take place in Belgrade between September 7 and September 11, 2009.
The Congress is organized by the Institute for Botany and the Botanical garden “Jevremovac” of the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, and Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
The working part of the Congress will take place in the building of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Kneza Mihaila Street, No. 35.
According to the confirmed applications, the Congress will host more than 370 scientists – botanists from 27 countries from the Balkan Peninsula, European Union, Russia and other regions.
Scientific works and announcements from various fields of Botany are classified into 9 scientific sections. Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic Serbia, as well as the City of Belgrade, are the official patrons of the Congress.
The COMPANY GALENIKA A.D. is the general sponsor of the Congress.
The Congress opening ceremony will be held at the Conference Hall of SASA on Monday, 7th September 2009, at 9 a.m.
