The Mediterranean Academies Network and the National Academy dei Lincei in Rome will organize the Second International Conference of Mediterranean Academies from October 12 to October 14.
Upon the invitation of the National Italian Academy dei Lincei, Ljubisav Rakic, the Vice-President of SASA, will attend this International Conference.
The major topic of the conference is SCIENCE AND HEALTH SYSTEM IN THE MEDIRERRANEAN REGION and it will be discussed through three parallel sessions: 1. Genetic fields, 2. Genetic and living factors that cause chronic diseases and 3. Infection epidemic and developing diseases.
The Mediterranean stands for an authentic region whose climatic, environmental and other factors make it unique and which, in terms of history and geography, has always represented a region of particular importance.
SASA plays an active role in the Mediterranean Academies Network in spite of the fact that, geographically speaking, Serbia is a land-locked country; however, it has always been one of the most important factors within this region. SASA intends to, at the level of science and technological development, make ties with other countries from the region for the purpose of improvement of science and through cooperation with developed countries, as well as to place its achievements in the underdeveloped Mediterranean countries.
