Announcement on the talks with Rajko Kuzmanović, President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, academician Nikola Hajdin received the academician Rajko Kuzmanović, President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska and President of the Republic of Srpska. Academician Ljubisa Rakić, Vice-.President, academician Nikola Tasić, Vice-President, academician Dimitrije Stefanović, General Secretary were also present on this occasion. The representatives of two Academies discussed advancement of future collaboration.

President Kuzmanović informed all interlocutors about the activities of ASARS, emphasizing that the construction of the Academy building, whose ceremonial opening is expected in late August or early September 2010, reached the final phase. All members of the Executive Board of SASA are invited to attend the ceremony, and invitations will also be sent to representatives of numerous European Academies.
ASARS plans to establish 4 institutes: for language and literature, for history, for technology of contemporary materials and for agriculture. Establishment of Institutes for Language and Literature and History has entered the final stage and President Kuzmanović asked for the Academy's support in development of these institutes.
The Academy scheduled the scientific conference “Development of Constitutionality and Statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Srpska”. The conference will be held in Autumn 2010 and participation of SASA representatives is expected.
International cooperation stands out as one of the major priorities of ASARS, primarily at European and regional level, and through bilateral agreements on mutual collaboration. ASARS has recently signed the Protocol on collaboration with the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Collaboration between the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatian Academy of Sciences of Arts has not been institutionalized, and it is implemented on the basis of individual contacts among the academicians.
President Kuzmanović invited the members of SASA IOP to visit the Academy in May 2010 and at the same time accepted the invitation of academician Dimitrije Stefanović to visit the Ciltural Socety Matica Srpska in Novi Sad.
