OPENING OF THE 35TH CONCERT SEASON AT THE GALLERY OF THE SERBIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS

A new music season shall be opened on Thursday, October 6, at the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. According to tradition, the concerts shall be held every Monday and Thursday starting at 6 p.m. and the entrance is free. The concert season shall begin with the performance of the Trio “Eterna“ (composed of violinist Vesna Jovanovic-Jansens, oboist Dusko Nenadovic and cellist Sinisa Jovanovic) who will play the compositions of Handel, Haydn, Cramer and Ravel.
For the forthcoming season the Gallery prepared a diverse program of artistic music. Numerous young musicians shall also perform at the concerts to whom the Gallery pays special attention.
The musician who, according to the jury, gives the most successful solo concert in the season shall receive “Stanojlo Rajicic“ Award presented by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. We use this opportunity also to announce the award winner of the last music season which award is named after the founder and the Gallery concert editor of many years – the winner is a young, twenty-year-old pianist Ivan Basic. The award shall be presented at the concert that he will give in the new season at the Gallery.
Financial assistance in organizing the concert shall be provided by the Secretariat for Culture of the City of Belgrade.
