New protector of the European Academy

The proposal to accept Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, President of the Republic of Serbia as protector of the European Academy was adopted unanimously by the Senate of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Salzburg).

This is a great honor and privilege and also very important for our country since our President will thereby join the group of eminent Europeans that have received such a high acclaim.

Twelve heads of states from Europe have been appointed to this position to this day (see the European Academy website www.euro-acad.eu).
The Academy members are numerous eminent scientists, including 29 Nobel Prize laureates.

The inauguration and honorary address will take place at the EASA's Solemn Session in Salzburg on March 7, 2015.
