At the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts the Agreement for Scientific and Artistic Cooperation between the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts was signed today. The Presidents of the Academies signed the Agreement, namely, Vladimir S. Kostic on behalf of SASA and Dragan K. Vukcevic on behalf of MASA.
The signing ceremony was attended by the MASA Vice-President, academician Djordje Borozan and the MASA Executive Board members: academicians Zoran Popovic and Ljubomir Maksimovic, Vice-Presidents, academician Marko Andjelkovic, General Secretary, academician Stevan Pilipovic, President of the SASA Branch in Novi Sad and academician Ninoslav Stojadinovic, President of the SASA Branch in Nis. The signing was also attended by the Ambassador of Montenegro in Belgrade, His Excellency Mr. Branislav Micunovic.
The Agreement was signed for the purpose of continuance and improvement of scientific and technological and artistic cooperation through engagement on joint research projects, assistance in scientific researches in libraries, archives and scientific and research institutions, encouragement of cooperation between scientific institutions within academies and institutions and organizations that are not within academies, organization of joint activities – scientific conventions, symposiums, conferences, exhibitions, lectures, organization and exchange of exhibitions and concert and other artistic activities of the members and other prominent artists, sharing of information and publications and also through other activities agreed between the parties.
The MASA President, academician Dragan K. Vukcevic, and Vice-President, academician Djordje Borozan, are visiting Belgrade as the guests of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in order to attend the symposium titled National Academies of Sciences and Arts in 21st Century. The symposium gathered the presidents and representatives of several Academies of Sciences and Arts in the region, and academician Dragan K. Vukcevic participated with the announcement Academy and Society.
