Grafički kolektiv (1949–2019), a hotspot of artistic and cultural life of Belgrade, Serbia and former Yugoslavia, has been a unique institution, which adopted a pioneering role in promotion of print art and became a leader in this visual field in our society.
Focusing on seven decades of work of Grafički kolektiv, the retrospective exhibition at the SASA Gallery will highlight the pioneering and leadership role which this unique artists’ house has played in affirmation of the contemporary art scene. In order to comprehend the continuity and tradition of Grafički kolektiv, the exhibition will be divided into several segments to accentuate the most important dates, events and the most essential figures that established the life of this institution.
Dominant developments and aesthetic changes in which Grafički kolektiv took part, followed and affirmed, are obvious in segments: exhibitions, awards, Collection, international cooperation, educational programmes, enlightened intellectual and critical discourse. The visitor will have the opportunity to see videos and photo documents from exhibitions, print art and print designs, posters, press and critical reviews and publications which were part of art life of Serbia and former Yugoslavia.
