Academy’s Day

On the occasion of the Day of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the ceremonial session was held on Tuesday, 19 November. The session began at 11 o’clock, with the art programme having been presented at the Grand Hall of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The welcome remarks were given by Academician Vladimir S. Kostić, SASA president.

The clarinettist Ognjen Popović produced Academician Dejan Despić’s composition ’Nine Balkan Games for Solo Clarinet’, while Borislav Čičovački (English horn), Aleksandar Stefanović (accordion) and Boban Stošić (double bass) performed Academician Isidora Žebeljan’s composition ’Bride of the Wind’.

Stage artists Vojislav Brajović and Nebojša Kundačina delivered Slobodan Jovanović’s texts titled ’Legacy on Totalitarism’, prepared by Academician Ljubomir Simović.

Academician Ivan Jevtić’s composition ’Sonata for Flute and Harp, I movement’ was performed by Gorana Ćurgus (harp) and Vanja Đorđević (flute), followed by Corresponding Member Svetislav Božić’s composition ’Preludium for Solo Violin’ which was rendered by Nemanja Marjanović (viola).
