Delegation of Chinese Academy of Sciences visits SASA

A delegation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts on Wednesday, 27 March, and signed a cooperation agreement.

Academician Vladimir S. Kostić, SASA President, welcomed the signing of the cooperation agreement with one of the most prestigious scientific institutions in the world, which has over hundred institutes, 70.000 scientists and a budget beyond every Serbian scientist’s dream, as he said. He also pointed out that China is one of the few countries able to bring back its finest experts from abroad.

– Despite the disproportion existing in the number of people and capacities, I am certain that China will also have benefits from the Serbian scientific community – said Academician V. Kostić.

The President of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chunli BAI, also expressed his pleasure at cooperation with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, reminding of the SASA’s long tradition and its eminent scientists and members, such as Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin.

– There exists a good foundation for scientific and technical cooperation between China and Serbia. At the meeting, both sides have considered possibilities for further cooperation. Our Academy has launched several projects encouraging the exchange of young scientists, some of which include fellowships for students and experts – said CAS President Chunli BAI.
