Exhibition ’Nikola Tesla and the Graz Tech’

The exhibition ‘Nikola Tesla and the Graz Tech’, organized by the Austrian Cultural Forum, opens at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology on Tuesday, 6 July, at 6 p.m. The exhibition is dedicated to the years in Graz of the inventor genius Nikola Tesla spanning his student days to Tesla’s legacy in the present. Tesla’s relationship to the Graz University of Technology, at the time known as the k.k. Technische Hochschule (Imperial and Royal College of Technology), where he studied in the period 1875-1878 and where he received his honorary doctorate in 1937, is particularly explored. In addition to the most pivotal moments in Tesla’s life and his technological achievements, the exhibition highlights how Tesla’s idea influenced science and industry and the development of the educational institutions in Graz, The Universalmuseum Joanneum and how his legacy left its mark on the Graz Tech.

On the occasion of Nikola Tesla’s birthday, the round table ’From a Talented Balkan Boy to a Planetary Genius’ will be organized at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology on Friday, 6 July, at 6 p.m. The event will feature the participation of Academician Dejan Popović, Corresponding Member Slobodan Vukosavić and Zorica Civrić Flores, a counsellor at the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade.
