Opening of the exhibition marking 70 years of Grafički Kolektiv

An exhibition ’A Symbol of Time – 70/∞’, marking 70 years of foundation of Grafički kolektiv (1949-2019) is to open at the SASA Gallery, on Wednesday, 19 June, at 7 p.m. The purpose of the exhibition is the presentation of artistic heritage and tradition of Grafički kolektiv, an institution which  adopted a pioneering role and had immeasurable significance in promotion of print art.

Soon after its opening in 1949, Grafički kolektiv became a hotspot for artists, art historians, critics and writers, as well as the centre where developments in art were critically reviewed.Over the years, it has gained a professional recognition at domestic, regional as well as at international artistic scene. The history of contemporary Serbian and Yugoslav print art, and art in general, is intrinsically linked to the history of Grafički kolektiv.

The curator of the exhibition and catalogue editor is Ljiljana Ćinkul, while the contributions in the catalogue were provided by Professor Emeritus Irina Subotić, Prof. Ješa Denegri, Ljiljana Ćinkul, Ljiljana Slijepčević and Gordana Popović Vasić. The exhibition is on display until 18 August.
