On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Josif Pančić Institute for the Study of Medicinal Herbs, an exhibition titled The Power of Herbs, organized by the Institute, opens at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology on Thursday, May 3,
The exhibition features items that best reflect the development of the Institute and all the fields of its activities, with particular emphasis placed on the beauty and importance of medicinal herbs. Also on display are items that have been of special importance for the operation and development of the Institute, such as presses, scales and balances, apothecary jars, books, a collection of herbal drugs, etc. Thanks to the Svetozar Marković University Library, visitors can also see the original edition of the first Serbian pharmacopoeia (Pharmacopoea Serbica editio prima) from 1881.
During the exhibition, lectures on medicinal herbs are organized at 6 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.
