THE SALONIKA FRONT 1916–1918

OCT. 16 – NOV. 3, 2018

The multimedia exhibition, The Salonika Front 1916-1918, represents a historical-comparative analysis of the military operations and engagement of the Serbian and Allied Powers at the Salonika Front. The exhibition features archival material from Serbian and British archives related to the establishment of the Salonika Front, which was the most important military operation involving cooperation between Serbian and Allied forces, the organization and operation of Serbian medical corps and Allied medical missions, as well as the everyday life at the frontline.

In 2018, the European Year of Cultural Heritage,  during which the centennial of the end of World War I and the breakthrough of the Salonika Front is marked, the goal of the exhibition, The Salonika Front 1916-1918, is to stress the importance of the Salonika Front in the context of the contemporary history of Europe and the Balkans, and pay homage to those who took part in it and to the fallen warriors.
