2024 SASA Membership Election Process Finalized

At the SASA Election Assembly, held on Thursday, 7 November, all 17 candidates for full membership, 22 for corresponding membership, and five for foreign membership were introduced. Overall, there were 55 candidates.

Following a secret voting process, all proposed candidates for full membership in SASA met the necessary qualifications. The newly elected full members are as follows: SASA Corresponding Member Slobodan Marković (Department of Mathematics, Physics and Geosciences), SASA Corresponding Member Tanja Ćirković Veličković (Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences), SASA Corresponding Member Vlada Veljković (Department of Technical Sciences), SASA Corresponding Member Tatjana Simić  (Department of Medical Sciences),  SASA Corresponding Member Zoran Paunović, SASA Corresponding Member Ljubinko Radenković,  SASA Corresponding Member Slobodan Grubačić and SASA Corresponding Member Jovan Delić (Department of Language and Literature), SASA Corresponding Member Alpar Lošonc,  SASA Corresponding Member Pavle Petrović (Department of Social Sciences), SASA Corresponding Member Dragan Vojvodić, SASA Corresponding Member Vujadin Ivanišević, SASA Corresponding Member Mira Radojević (Department of Historical Sciences),  SASA Corresponding Member Jelena Jovanović, SASA Corresponding Member Milan Marić and SASA Corresponding Member Sava Halugin (Department of Arts).

There were 33 candidates for corresponding members whereas 22 were elected. New corresponding members of the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Geosciences are Magdalena Đorđević, Mirjana Ivanović, Antun Balaž, Stevo Stević and Dejan Prelević. The Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences added Igor Pašti into its ranks, while Vesna Mišković Stanković joined the Department of Technical Sciences. Branko Beleslin and Gordana Kocić swelled the Department of Medical Sciences ranks. The Department of Language and Literature now includes Milena Marković, Marta Bjeletić and Gorana Raičević, and the Department of Social Sciences was strengthened by Milojko Arsić, Boris Milosavljević, Mirjana Rašević, and Snežana Smederevac. As for the Department of Historical Sciences, it was joined by Vesna Bikić and Igor Borozan, while the Department of Arts expanded with Dejan Miljković, Aleksandra Vrebalov, Želimir Žilnik and Vida Ognjenović.

All proposed candidates for foreign members were accepted into membership and they are Vladan Vuletić (Department of Mathematics, Physics and Geosciences), Nikolaos Makris (Department of Technical Sciences), Vesna Garović and Janko Ž. Nikolić (Department of Medical Sciences) and Drago Kekanović (Department of Language and Literature).
