SASA Gallery of Science and Technology

Since 1997, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts has housed the Gallery of Science and Technology in its building in Đure Jakšića Street, thus making it possible to organize various events in the space. The exhibitions and programs of the Gallery, which was headed by Academician Aleksandar Despić until 2005, were organized by the Museum of Science and Technology. In 2006, the Gallery was renamed the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology and has since organized most of its activities independently.

The main task of the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology is to popularize and promote scientific and technological achievements and heritage through exhibitions, with special emphasis placed on the history of the development of natural and social sciences, as well as on presenting the development of technology in Serbia.

Besides exhibitions, the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology also organizes lectures, panel talks, book promotions, educational workshops for children and showings of science films, and participates in a number of scientific events.

The SASA Gallery of Science and Technology has at its disposal an exhibition area of 100 m2.

The annual program of Gallery activities is planned well in advance and is approved for the following year by a Professional Council of the Gallery every December. The Professional Council has nine members, nominated by the Department of Science and Technology and appointed by the SASA Presidency.

The Gallery is open to visitors every workday from 10 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm.
