BRAIN AWARENESS WEEK 2018 – ALL SIDES OF CONSCIOUSNESS

MARCH 12 – 17, 2018

Have you ever wondered where is the “location” of consciousness in the brain? How does brain think about itself? Do animals have consciousness? What are the differences between dreaming, coma and hallucinations? What role does our body play in our consciousness? Can consciousness direct our attention or is it attention that makes us conscious? Does consciousness develop from childhood to adulthood?  What happens when we connect live cells to a computer? Can consciousness be “born”? Do robots have a consciousness? These are only some of the questions discussed at the five-day event dedicated to the findings about the king of all the organs, his majesty the BRAIN.

On Monday, March 12, the exhibition, All Sides of Consciousness, accompanying the international event, Brain Awareness Week 2018, opened at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology (Đure jakšića 2). During the exhibition, volunteers and members of the Student Section of the Serbian Neuroscience Society will guide visitors through an interactive exhibition and aid them in solving neuroscience problems in the Hunt for Consciousness room of puzzles.
