LIFE IN THE ENGINE POWER: MIHAILO MIKA BORISAVLJEVIĆ

An exhibition entitled ‘Life in the Engine Power: Mihailo Mika Borisavljević’ will illustrate the life and work of Mihailo Borisavljević, a professor of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade and world-renowned expert in the field of motor and automobile industry.

Mihailo Borisavljević, a mechanical engineer, was a motorsport aficionado, participant of numerous races, including ‘The first Belgrade auto and motorcycle race’ which took place on a track around Kalemegdan Fortress, on 3 September 1939.  Based on his own drawings, he designed the first Serbian racing motorcycle MB-125. He was one of the founders of the Auto Moto Union of Yugoslavia.

A design of ‘Krušik’s’ auxiliary motor for MO-1 bicycle, which professor M. Borisavljević built together with professor S. Dobrosavljević in the SASA Institute of Mechanical Engineering,  will also be exhibited.
