Marking the Year of Jovan Dučić

On 9 and 10 December, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts organizes a closing event in the year dedicated to the poet and diplomat Jovan Dučić, as a celebration of 150 years from his birth.

A ceremonial session in honour of Jovan Dučić begins on 9 December, at the SASA Grand Hall, at noon, with Academician Ljubomir Simović’s address. Dučić’s verses, compiled by Simović, will be orated by actors Voja Brajović and Nebojša Kundačina.

The ceremonial opening of the scientific conference ‘Jovan Dučić – Poet and Diplomat’ starts on the same day, 9 December, at 2 p.m.

The documentary film ‘In Trebinje with Jovan Dučić’ will be featured before the working part of the scientific conference. The following scholars submitted their papers for the conference: Zlata Bojović, Ljubodrag Dimić, Svetlana Šeatović, Draga Mastilović, Maja Radojević, Slavko Petaković, Dragan Hamović, Boško Suvajdžić, Jana Aleksić, Vladan Bajčeta, Lidija Tomić, Vesna Elez, Branko Vraneš, Bojan Jović, Valentina Hamović, Mina Đurić, Sanja Paripović Krčmar, Marko Radulović, Milijana Simonović, Marko Avramović, Bojana Stojanović Pantović, Jovan Delić, Dušan Ivanić, Predrag Petrović, Slađana Jaćimović, Zorana Opačić, Vladimir Gvozden, Jelena Novaković, Dragan Bošković, Aleksandar Milanović and Nada Savković.

The scientific conference is expected to finish on 10 December, around 6 p.m.
