RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS LJUBA POPOVIĆ (1934-2016)

A retrospective exhibition of paintings Ljuba Popović (1934-2016) will be organized at the SASA Gallery of Visual Arts and Music.

Academician Ljuba Popović, one of the most notable names of the Serbian, as well as the French art scene, was born in Tuzla, he spent his boyhood in Valjevo, while he graduated painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. He moved to Paris, in 1963. He was a member of the Mediala group.

His paintings can be found in prestigious museums, galleries and private collections.

Once he stated: ‘Paintings have their own destiny, which cannot be affected and which is illusory to even think about. The only thing that matters is that wonderous energy flowing through them, leaving marks both on the life of the painter and collector.’
