Round table ‘Myth Revival in Philology and Literature’
The round table titled ‘Myth Revival in Philology and Literature’ opens on Monday, 9 December at the SASA Hall 3 at 10 a.m. The event is organized by the Board for the Serbian Language and Literature in Comparison with Other Languages and Literatures seated within the SASA Department of Languages and Literature.
This round table focuses on the following entries: myth understanding and its use in romantic philology and literature; German sources and European directions; inter-relationship between German and English Romanticism; other national Romanticisms and poetic myth-making. The discussion will also touch on the literary concepts of permanent fabulation, idealization, allegorization, and symbolization that underpin new understandings of myth, tracing its revival as a central topic in romantic modernism to its ongoing influence in the 20th and 21st centuries, including its myth-directed impact on Serbian literature and philology.
