Scientific Conference Honouring Mihajlo Pupin

The scientific conference ‘170 Years from the Birth of Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin, the Connector of Worlds’ will take place on Thursday, 28 November, at 10 a.m., at the SASA Grand Hall.

A SASA member, Pupin made historical contributions to the development of telecommunications in the late 19th and early 20th  centuries,  which enabled long-distance phone communication, and his overall scientific accomplishments include a much broader field and have been evidenced through several dozen patents and scientific papers. Marking the anniversary, through several lectures, this event seeks to remind us of Pupin’s scientific and other contributions as a scientist and professor at Columbia University, a member of various institutions including SASA, and a patriotic figure during the First World War. At the end of the conference, some personal Pupin’s notes will be presented in the form of plays.
