BRAIN AWARENESS WEEK 2019

Organizers: The Student Section of the Serbian Neuroscience Society and the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology

As part of the scientific-popular campaign, Brain Awareness Week 2019, the exhibitionThe Life of a Brain, organized by the Student Section of the Serbian Neuroscience Society, will open at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology on Monday, March 11, at 6 p.m. Visitors of this interactive exhibition will be able, among other things, to learn how our nervous system develops and changes, what influences it, how we develop emotions and whether we have inherited our ancestors’ sensitivities. Organized in partnership with the Center for the Promotion of Science will be children’s workshops and educational programs (Saturday, March 16).

Some of the events accompanying the campaign, which is organized in Serbia for the eighth time, include lectures of renowned experts at the gallery of Science and Technology. Thus, on Thursday, March 14, at 5 p.m., Dr. Stojan Perić will be speaking on the topic “Titat, a Titan Among Genes – How We Discovered a New Disease”followed at 5.46 p.m. by Prof. Ksenija Kostić’s lecture “Brain Development from Childhood to Adolescence”. On Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m., there will be a session of the Serbian Brain Council, at which Prof. Pavle Anđus will give a lecture entitled “On the Cooperation Between Universities and Industry to the Benefit of Patients the EU Experience”, and Dr. Jelena Savić will be speaking about how to cope with Parkinson’s disease from the angel of patients, whereas Dr. Zvezdana Stojanović will discuss the topic, “Electroconvulsive  Therapy – a Shock or a Remedy?”
