Scientific conference ‘Polemic Aspects of Post -1945 Serbian Modernism with a Particular Focus on the Actions of the Zadar Group Members’
The two-day scientific conference titled ‘Polemic Aspects of Post -1945 Serbian Modernism with a Particular Focus on the Actions of the Zadar Group Members’ opens at the SASA Grand Hall, on Tuesday, 17 October, at 3.15 p.m.
The Conference is being organized by the SASA Art Department on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of SASA members artists Milorad Bata Mihailović (1923–2011) and Miodrag Mića Popović (1923–1996), and it will bring together 26 scholars and experts in the fields of history, culture, painting, literature and film.
The participants of the conference will present the results of their research on the first day, within the Yugoslav Historical Context panel, while on the second day, three panels will be featured and they are as follows: Paris-Belgrade – Ties and Influences; In a Modernistic Caleidoscope and Authors’ Characters in the Focus.
The goal of his scientific conference of a national nature is to highlight other, divergent concepts and new interpretations of Serbian modernism and the actions of its main protagonists in Yugoslav and international contexts, both from the point of view of social-political events and the situation in the official system of art, as well as from the perspective of alternative aesthetic positions and various artistic disciplines.
Scientific papers of participants will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
