(1869-1873)

1869.
	3 January	Prince Milan Obrenović’s regents approved the new Administrative Organization Rulebook and Rules of Procedure of the Serbian Learned Society.
	30 January	It was decided that former SSL members, who were at that time honorary members, could become full members through regular elections.
	20 March	The Natural and Mathematical Sciences Division proposed using Bishop Štrosmajer’s gift of 100 ducats to undertake a comprehensive study of Serbian land and people. (Gl. SUD 25 (1869) 370-373).
	30 October	The first play was performed in the new building of the National Theatre. Director Jovan Đorđević delivered a welcome speech.

1870.
	13 June	The assembly reached a decision to hand over tombstone monuments, which Miloš S. Milojević had brought from Podrinje, to the National Museum for safekeeping. At the same assembly, M. Milojević advised the Society to ‘officially curb the destruction and eradication of antiquities.’(Gl. SUD 28 (1870) II and 29 (1871) V ).
	5 November	The proposal of the Board for Marking the Meridian on which Belgrade lies to build an observation deck in Vračar polje (Gl. SUD 28 (1870), XXVI) and to record and collect meteorological data at all telegraph stations was adopted. (Gl. SUD 29 (1871), VI).

1871.
	8 January	Mihajlo Valtrović, Steva Todorović, Nikola Marković and Dragutin Milutinović submitted ‘a proposal for a scientific expedition to be sent to record painted and architectural monuments in our homeland.’ (Plan in: Gl. SUD 29 (1871), XIX–XXI).
	2 March	Stojan Bošković proposed the publication of the Dictionary  of General Yugoslav Science in the Serbo-Croatian and Bulgarian languages. (Gl. SUD 33 (1872) 272-281).
	28 August	JAZU replied to Stojan Bošković’s proposal for joint work on the Dictionary of General Science, stating: ‘Such an undertaking requires qualifications which are lacking and the time is not yet ripe.’ (Gl. SUD 32 (1871), X–XI).
	14 December	The Board decided ‘to ask all members of the Social Sciences Division for photographs so that the Society could compile an album of its members.’ (Gl. SUD 33 (1872), XIV).

1872.
	30 January	A decision was adopted to secure funds for carrying out the plan for astronomical and meteorological observations. (Gl. SUD 33 (1872) XXIV-V).
	22 August	Stojan Novaković submitted a proposal and a draft for the establishment of the Serbian Historical-Ethnographic Museum. (Gl. SUD 34 (1872), 336–356).
	17 November	Dragutin S. Milutinović and Mihajlo Valtrović submitted a ‘Report … on their activities in Serbia’ (Gl. SUD 36 (1872), 302). Their works were exhibited at the Moscow Polytechnic University.

1873.
	19 January	Franjo Zach produced ‘A Draft for the Collection of Meteorological Data’, while Jovan Dragašević wrote ‘A Guide for the Collection of Geographical Records’ (Gl. SUD 38 (1873) 316-323).
	1 December	The Law on Metric Measures, whose originator was Dimitrije Nešić, was adopted by the Parliament of the Principality of Serbia.
