The Theatre Board for the construction of a theatre building was formed and it included Atanasije Nikolić, Matija Ban, Đorđe Maletić and others. |

Đorđe Cenić, editor of Glasnik, proposed establishing orthographic rules which were to be used in the Society’s editions. Jovan Stejić soon produced Praktična pravila srpskog pravopisa [Practical Rules of Serbian Orthography] (Gl. DSS 4 (1852) 4 -15). |

The Society issued a call for the collection of historical material through the newspapers Novine srpske. Janko Šafarik published a book titled Opisanije starih srpskih novaca [Descriptions of Old Serbian Coins] (Gl. DSS 3 (1851) 191-259). |
