125th anniversary of the birth of Academician Ilija Đuričić

The ceremonial session dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Academician Ilija Đuričić was held at the SASA Grand Hall, on 9 October.

Academician Ilija Đuričić (b. Belgrade 18 July 1898 – d. Belgrade 2 April 1965)) was a professor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Belgrade, the director of the Institute for the Study of Work Physiology of the Serbian Academy of Sciences (SAS) in the period from 1947 to 1954, the rector of the University of Belgrade, SAS vice-president in the period from 1959 to 1960, and the president of SASA in the period 1960 to 1965.

In 1950, he was elected a SAS corresponding member and he became a full member in 1955. He was also a corresponding member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
