57th OCTOBER SALON: THE MARVELOUS CACOPHONY

SEPT. 15 – OCT. 28, 2018

From Sept. 15 to Oct. 28, SASA Gallery will be one of the venues hosting works displayed at the 57th October Salon, the largest regional exhibition of contemporary art, whose slogan this year is  “The Marvelous Cacophony”. Visitors will be able to see works by some of the best known international artists, such as Takashi Murakami, Anselm Kiefer, Vladimir Veličković, Tom Sachs, Larry Bell, Dušan Otašević, Helen Marten, and many others. Yoko Ono will also present her artistic works and projects.

The concept of the 57th October Salon rests on the fact that the Western understanding of contemporary art has become universally accepted and that, since the start of the 21st century, “cacophony” has been a common denominator of disparate artistic movements. A reexamination of art and what art could be represents the main idea behind the exhibition. The title of the exhibition, The Marvelous Cacophony, is suggestive of a constellation of works that express, through their forms, structures and content, the diversity and richness of a cacophonous expression as an important element of or conditions prevailing on the international contemporary art scene at the beginning of this century.

The art directors of the 57th October Salon are Gunnar Kvaran and Danielle Kvaran.
