Academician Dušan Otaević’s Exhibition ‘A Grain of Wheat’

The exhibition titled ‘A Grain of Wheat’ by Academician Dušan Otašević will officially open on Friday, 25 October, at 7 p.m. at the Nikola Koka Janković Gallery in Kragujevac.

Through the exhibition, Academician Dušan Otašević has built a puzzle whose solution is shaped by the myriads birthed by the one by creating a precisely envisaged concept and clearly visualized scenario for this exhibition. He unveils the reality through a grain of wheat which, in its gist, serves as a complex symbol of genesis and disappearance through life cycle turns. He ushers us into the presence of spiritual layers through the art language, potent and free relationships between shapes and colours leading us through history by connecting the old-Egyptian god of the underworld Osiris which represents the regenerative power and Greek goddess of fertility Demeter extending to the Last Supper.

The exhibition has been curated by Žaklina Marković, senior curator of the SASA Gallery, who also authored the accompanying catalogue text. It will be on display until 10 December.
