Academician Nebojša Lalić elected Vice-President of the ANSO Governing Board

SASA Secretary General Academician Nebojša Lalić was elected the Vice President of The Alliance of National and International Science Organisations (ANSO) at its Fourth General Assembly on 30 October 2025 in Beijing. In addition, Academician Lalić, representing SASA, participated in the ANSO Conference, where he delivered a lecture on the diabetes pandemic and possibilities of its prevention at both international and national levels.

’Being elected the ANSO Governing Board Vice President is a high recognition of the cooperation with the Alliance, which has been intensified in recent years, ever since the COVID pandemic. I would like to recall that SASA and several other international organisations, in cooperation with ANSO, organised the World Conference on Science and Art for Sustainability, which was highly praised by both Chinese colleagues and other Alliance members. This position offers an opportunity to enhance cooperation, particularly by providing further education and research training for young scientists from our country in  China, and other ANSO members. It will also provide an opportunity to organise large-scale conferences and meetings in Serbia, such as the above-mentioned World Conference on Science and Arts for Sustainability. The cooperation with the Alliance is also significant due to the opening of Serbia toward a fast-developing environment’, elaborated Academician Lalić.

ANSO, established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and headquartered in Beijing, currently brings together 98 members, including national academies, universities, and global non-profit organisations. The General Assembly, Conference, and Governing Board meetings are held biennially.
