An Evening with Composers – Corresponding Member Svetislav Božić

As part of the programme titled ’Concert at the SASA Gallery’, an evening with the composer and SASA Corresponding Member Svetislav Božić is scheduled on Thursday, 12 December, at the SASA Gallery. The programme starts at 6 p.m.

The following compositions will be performed: Mala jektenija [Small Litany]– for violin and cello, Ehos – for flute solo, Na balu [At a Ball] – for flute and piano, Sonnet for violin and piano, Sonnet for piano, while the audience will have the opportunity to hear the last three compositions as a premiere.

The tonal archipelago of these compositions, created over the past decades, is primarily of lyrical intonation. It is consonance in the most general sense, demonstrating the need to send solid sound topos into space and time and to impress their unity upon the consciousness of the listener – the composer Božić explains.

The performers of the compositions are notable artists, university professors, prominent members of domestic, prestigious symphony and chamber orchestras, winners of domestic and international awards and recognitions: Russian pianist  Aleksandar Sinčuk, Jovana Stošić (violin), Miomir Simonović (flute), Dragana Raic (piano), Vesna Jansens (violin) and Dušan Stojanović (cello).

Svetislav Božić is a full professor at the Faculty of Musical Arts, the author of 14 books in the field of musical theory and awarded composer, whose compositions have been performed in many countries, in renowned musical halls. He is the composer of over 220 compositions.

The SASA Gallery is more than an elegant and refined space for the life of our art, and therefore SASA members’ presentation in such a space is a genuine privilege but also a solemn obligation – Academician Božić says.
