Annual Meeting of the SASA Board for Cardiovascular Pathology
The traditional annual meeting of the SASA Board for Cardiovascular Pathology, the oldest and the one with the largest membership, within the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA), will take place on Friday, 12 December, at 1 p.m. in the SASA Grand Hall.
Established in 1982, the Board is often referred to as the ‘expert umbrella institution of Serbian cardiology.’ In addition to its President, Vladimir Kanjuh, its membership includes Secretary Miodrag Ostojić, Technical Secretary Dr Snežana Kanjuh, 12 domestic SASA members, 11 international SASA members, and 22 external contributors.
Academician Vladimir Kanjuh, the Board’s president, will open this year’s meeting. The audience will also be addressed by Academician Bela Balint, Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovations of the Republic of Serbia, Nebojša Lalić, Vice President of the Atherosclerosis Association of Serbia, and Academician Miodrag Čolić, Secretary of the SASA Department of Medical Sciences. The Board’s work in 2025 will be presented next, followed by the introduction of three new members to the Board. They are Professor Ivan Nikolić, MD, Primarius Momir Pušac, MD, and Dragutin Backo Gregorić.
At the same event, Professor Nebojša Antonijević, MD, will deliver a lecture titled ‘Managing Life-Threatening Thrombosis and Bleeding Induced by Antithrombotic Therapy: Complex Cases from Clinical Practice’, while Professor Predrag Mitrović, MD, will give the lecture titled ‘Music – Art or Cure’.
