Belgrade School of Physiology: From the Sorbonne to Belgrade

A scientific gathering, titled Belgrade School of Physiology: From the Sorbonne to Belgrade, dedicated to Academician Ivan Đaja, will be held at the Grand Hall of the SASA Branch in Novi Sad on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m.

The speakers on the life and work of Ivan Đaja (1884–1957), one of the greatest Serbian and South Slavic scientists, physiologists and biologists, a former Rector of the University of Belgrade, and also a rather talented philosopher and man-of-letters, will be Academician Dejan Popović (“A Free Man of Good Repute: Ivan Đaja, Philosopher and Man-of Letters”), Negoslav Đaja (The Life Path of Ivan Đaja and His Family”), Prof. Pavle Anđus (“Research of Ivan Đaja: A Legacy for the Future”), and Prof. Bato Korać (Hybernation: The Fascination and Beauty of Sustaining Life at the Molecular Level”).

The gathering is organized with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
