Ceremonial session marking the 125th anniversary of the birth of SASA foreign member Henry Moore
The ceremonial session honouring the 125th anniversary of the birth of the SASA foreign member Henry Moore (1898-1986) was held at the SASA Grand Hall, on 11 October. This session is by no means a tribute to this historically relevant artist and one of the most distinguished British and world sculptors since, for our community, Henry Moore was not only a recognized giant of the world art heritage, but he made an incommensurable contribution with his exhibition in 1955 which was a great event with a modernizing effect to the then-society. It provided a possible answer to a crucial question: can art change – not just comment but emancipate a community and open utopian paths of distinct and better understanding and positive changes? The session aims to revise the mentioned circumstances and paths, and for the future’s sake, remember them through lectures of British and Serbian experts and guests.
