Dado Topić participates in the Masterclass series – Encounters with Creators

Musician Dado Topić is the participant of the eighteenth volume of the series – Encounters with Creators – Masterclass, which is to be held on Wednesday, 18 February, at 6 p.m. at the SASA Grand Hall. Academician Zoran Lj. Petrović, director of the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology, will moderate the interview with Dado Topić.

Just like many musicians before and after him, Dado Topic realised early on that rock ’n’ roll is not a question of choice, but of predestination. It was doubtlessly clear to him when he crafted his first guitar out of planks, while coming up with the name for his first band. The guitar was to be similar to the ones from Veseli klub mladih, and the name was supposed to sound ’dangerous’ and impressive. The first objective has been partially achieved, and the second entirely so. The group he established together with his friends from high school, Josip Boček, later guitarist of Korni grupa, and Zoran Knežević, later SASA president, was dubbed Đavolji eliksiri (Devil’s elixirs), per the renowned E. T. A Hoffmann’s book, as noted by Academician Zoran Paunović in the text for RTS Oko portal.

The series ’Encounters with Creators – Masterclass’ features conversations with people who have achieved success (in their respective careers, including science and art, sport, and humanitarian work). The series aims to shed light on the foundation of their success, decision-making mechanisms, inspiration, problem-solving and remaining on their path, particularly when facing challenges and misunderstandings, as well as when achieving success. The goal is to reveal the interaction between an individual and the system, both nationally and internationally. These conversations are intended to inspire and present some of the distinguished individuals.
