EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

As part of the “La main à la pâte” project, launched in 1996 by Georges Charpak, Nobel Prize laureate, and the French Academy of Sciences, the  the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology  will host an exhibition-workshop titled “Education for Sustainable Development.”

Professor Stevan Jokić is the founder of the Serbian branch of this program and has been collaborating with numerous institutions in Serbia for many years to ensure that teachers and children become familiar with all available resources and opportunities.

The exposition at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology includes posters explaining the concept of sustainable development, the Fifth Industrial Revolution along with examples of positive and negative practices of upholding the principles of sustainable development. Visitors will also learn about the marking of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) and this year’s International Day of Education which is dedicated to artificial intelligence and education.

The exhibition will feature numerous books dealing with current topics in science, technology and IT education, offerring valuable help to primary and secondary school teachers interested in using STEM and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering /Art, and Mathematics) approaches; and a Youtube multimedia presentation from Nauka and informatika za sve channel, with a lot of materials and books being available to visitors in e-form for a free download.

Visitors will have an opportunity to conduct simple experiments by themselves,  observe and do research in various fields such as sustainable development, artificial intelligence, quantum sciences and quantum technologies.
