SASA Executive Council’s Response

The Executive Council of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) would like to respond with outrage to the insinuations about the existence of Memorandum 2, going as far as citing the non-existent document, in the letter of the Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Bisera Turković, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the siege of Sarajevo addressed to the media and world leaders.

R E S P O N S E

The SASA Executive Council has faced grotesque lies and pathological fabrications for the second time in the last several months, having no basis in the actions of SASA. We would like to stress the simple truth, there is no Memorandum 2, Memorandum 3 and so forth. The creators of deception use cheap tricks such as:

  1. A lie told a thousand times…the rest is widely known, and
  2. Citing completely fabricated texts should create the impression of documentary records – only several months ago, Mr Denis Zvizdić cited seven such falsehoods, while this time Mrs Turković cited only one.

It seems that the servants of the monster of history have not had enough blood and flesh of victims, no matter their ethnical background. Which forces need a new Protocol of the Learned Elders of Zion after so many years – we can only guess. The attitude and actions of SASA completely contradict the desires of those who spread these lies. However, based on our matching experience, spanning three and a half decades, we are afraid that these kinds of incidents must not be overlooked.

Regardless of its possible emotional tone, we cannot but react in the following manner:

  1. Memorandum 2 does not exist
  2. It is a defamation of the worst kind, consciously executed and planned
  3. It seems morbid to cite something that does not exist, having in mind the consequences of such actions
  4. The level of malice in Mrs Turković’s text provokes shame that any sane person will likely feel

We wonder whose stance Mrs Turković maintains and whether unity can be built on lies, accusations and manipulations. The Executive Council is forced to ask the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina how it is possible that Mrs Turković, in her capacity as the minister of foreign affairs of BiH, who is supposed to represent the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world, has signed and sent such shameful and irrational fabrications and horrendous, even dangerous denunciations to the disadvantage of a national institution, and has done it without any kind of reactions of the highest state authorities of BiH.
