Forgotten Archives Secrets

4 – 26 NOVEMBER 2022

Author: Professor Nela Puškaš, MD, PhD
Organizer: SASA Gallery of Science and Technology

The exhibition is organized to mark the anniversary of the first century of existence of the ‘Aleksandar Đ. Kostić’ Institute of Histology and Embryology of the School of Medicine at the University of Belgrade.

The legacy of Professor Aleksandar Đ. Kostić, the founder of the Institute, will be featured at the exhibition. The core of the exhibition centres on many glass photo panels shot in the 1920s and 1930s, which showcase a range of subjects, from histology products and patients, motifs of old Belgrade architecture, the building of the School of Medicine, to portraits and concepts, which resulted from the cooperation with numerous researchers from other faculties and institutes of the University of Belgrade.

The materials to be showcased are exclusive, which neither specialists nor a broad audience has had the opportunity to see, bearing in mind that the legacy of Professor Dr Aleksandar Đ. Kostić has recently been discovered.

The photo material displayed at the exhibition is digitized at the SASA Audiovisual Archive and Center for Digitization.
