Forty-Fourth Concert Season at the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts
The forty-fourth concert season at the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts was officially opened on Thursday, 2 October, with a concert of traditional, sacred, and art music entitled Applied Musicology and Ethnomusicology, organised in cooperation with the Institute of Musicology of SASA.
Concerts at the SASA Gallery were first introduced in 1981 under the direction of Academician Stanojlo Rajičić. From the very beginning, the stage became a springboard for young artists who later achieved both national and international acclaim. Among them were Nemanja Radulović, Stefan Milenković, Nikola Anđelić, Maja Bogdanović, Aleksandar Madžar, Jasminka Stančul, Nikola Mijailović, and many others.
Continuing this tradition, the program selector, Academician Ivan Jevtić, has curated a season that showcases the most prominent young performers of today. In October, audiences will already be able to enjoy performances by Ana Gvozdenović (soprano), Dušan Panajotović (violin), Uki Ovaskainen (piano), as well as soloists from the School for Musical Talents in Ćuprija, and the dynamic Piano Trio Corda, whose repertoire will include works by Dmitri Shostakovich and others.
This season will also see the continuation of cooperation with the Belgrade Cultural Centre through the Harpsichord Festival, scheduled for November.
Concerts will be held every Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. in the SASA Gallery. Admission is free.
