International exhibition ’On Architecture 2023 – Challenges in Design’

The 11th interdisciplinary international exhibition titled ‘On Architecture 2023 – Challenges in Design’ was opened at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology, on Tuesday, 5 December. The Exhibition of works is thematically connected to the eponymous conference and has been envisaged as a finale and conclusion of the programme event dubbed ‘On Architecture – Challenges in Design’, which is organized by The Sustainable Urban Society Association – STRAND.

The Exhibition ‘Challenges in Design’ will answer the queries whether architecture can assist in challenges brought about by the beginning of the 21st century, encompassing climate change impact, natural resources depletion, high environmental pollution and everything hallmarking an uncertain future.

The display at the SASA Gallery of Science and Technology follows thematic units by means of art drawings, projects, photographs and product design.

The programme will feature the participation of Academician Branislav Mitrović, who will take part in the programme as a visiting scholar attempting to elaborate on the topic ‘Challenges in Design’, as well as artist Hector Zamora, winner of the award at the previous exhibition, and architect Carmelo Zappulla. Organized by The Sustainable Urban Society Association – STRAND, the International jury will evaluate works and present awards.

As part of the accompanying programme, the event ‘Encounters with Creators – Masterclass’ will be organized on Wednesday, 6 December, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on this occasion Academician Branislav Mitrović will discuss the topic entitled ‘The Development of Architectural Language: from Primary to Abstract Shapes’.
