International Festival ‘Harpsichord, Living Art – Ars vivenid clavicembalum’ at SASA Gallery

The 19th volume of the Festival ‘Harpsichord, Living Art – Ars vivenid clavicembalum’ is to be held in the period from 5 to 9 November at various Belgrade concert venues.  Alexander Gergelyfi, a harpsichordist from Austria, has the honour of opening the Festival at the SASA Gallery, on Saturday, 5 November, at 6 p.m.

The Cultural Centre of Belgrade launched the Festival in 2003, which is dedicated to the promotion of a keyboard instrument of delicate sound nuance – the harpsichord as a solo and chamber instrument of the epoch from the 16th century to modern times. Over the course of 18 editions of the Festival, the rich literature for the harpsichord was presented by renowned musicians from Europe and Serbia.

This year, for the first time, Festival concerts will be held at the SASA Gallery. In addition to the performance of the acclaimed Austrian harpsichordist, the SASA Gallery concerts will be delivered by domestic scene representatives: Svetlana Stojanović Kutlača (on 5 November, at 7.30 p.m.) and Sofija Perović (on 6 November, at 6 p.m.), as well as the Parnas ensemble (on 6 November, at 7.30 p.m.). Other concerts will be held at The Residence of Princess Ljubica and the Italian Institute for Culture in Belgrade. The entrance to all concerts is free of charge.
