Kosovo and Metohija: Musical Representation of Multiculturalism of the 1950s and 1960s

On the occasion of the foundation of the Institute of Musicology of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the first publication titled ’Kosovo and Metohija: Musical Representation of Multiculturalism of the 1950s and 1960s’ from the edition ’Sound Treasury of the SASA Institute of Musicology’ will be presented at the SASA Gallery, on Monday, 16 December, starting at 6 p.m. It includes CDs with recordings from the archives of the SASA Institute of Musicology and bilingual booklet, edited by Danka Lajić Mihajlović, PhD, and SASA Corresponding Member Jelena Jovanović.

The presentation will feature addresses of Valentina Pitulić, PhD and full professor of the Faculty of Philosophy in Kosovska Mitrovica, Mirjana Zakić, PhD and associate professor of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, principal research fellow and director of the Institute of Musicology Katarina Tomašević, PhD, Danka Lajić Mihajlović, PhD and senior research associate of the Institute of Musicology and Jelena Jovanović, PhD, SASA corresponding member and senior research associate of the Institute of Musicology.

In addition to this, vocal ensembles ’Mladost’ from Gotovuša (Kosovo and Metohija), ’Moba’ from Belgrade as well as the vocal ensemble from Mokranjac Music School, children vocal group of the School of Traditional Singing of Bojana Nikolić Petričković and Jovana Zukanović and Katarina Gojković of the vocal ensemble ’Srpski glasovi’ will participate in the event.
