Project presentation ’Preservation of the Traditional Musical and Architectural Heritage in the Republic of Serbia’

The outcomes of an individual project of the SASA Department of Arts titled ’Preservation of the Traditional Musical and Architectural Heritage in the Republic of Serbia’, will be presented on Saturday, 29 November, at the SASA Gallery. The project leader is Academician Jelena Jovanović with project associates Professor Gorica Ljubenov, PhD, Danka Lajić Mihajlović, PhD, and Zlata Vuksanović-Macura, PhD.

The results from a three-year project (from 2023 to 2025) draw on the long-term work of experts, ethnomusicologists and architects, who were engaged in study plans, records and applied science activities, preservation efforts related to the above-mentioned heritage spheres across several geocultural regions in Serbia. The activities on the project encompassed two segments of traditional culture in Serbia, both spiritual and material culture, represented through music and architecture. The presentation will offer insights into perceiving the unity and the connection between these two seemingly unrelated spheres of traditional lifestyle and artistic expression, through visual and audio materials, as well as live performances and dancing.
