Reception for Young Talents
The traditional reception for young talents – high school students who won one of three first places in international competitions was hosted on Tuesday, 24 December, at the SASA Grand Hall. The event began with a 15-minute silence to honour the victims of the tragedy at the Novi Sad railway station. Following this, the President of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Academician Zoran Knežević, addressed the audience.
As the umbrella institution in our country, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts closely follows what our youth is doing and notes with joy their success because we recognize the immense effort, dedication, and talent that you and your teachers have invested in attaining these remarkable accomplishments. Each of your individual successes is seen as a success for all of us, as another link in the chain of individual and collective success of our people and society as a whole. Therefore, we believe that the duty of the Academy is to welcome and publicly acknowledge your successes and cordially and sincerely congratulate you by awarding you with these modest gifts and this ceremonial session – said Academician Z. Knežević.
This year, 123 awardees were recognized for their outstanding results in competitions across the globe. As was the tradition in previous years, the young talents received gift vouchers and SASA publications.
