Round table ’Critical Issues of the Republic of Serbia in Climate Change Atmosphere’

On Thursday, November 14, at 10 a.m., the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) will host the round table ‘Critical Issues of the Republic of Serbia in Climate Change Atmosphere’ at the SASA Grand Hall.

Numerous researchers have been urging action to mitigate climate change and decrease the risk of escalating climate risks. The latest United Nations report highlights the lack of progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Changes in the Earth’s climate system have already affected natural and social systems, and there is an ever-growing concern that the point of no return and unequivocal changes will be reached soon. The Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts is organizing the round table intending to consolidate all critical issues of the Republic of Serbia through interdisciplinary discussion. At the same time, the Academy seeks to evaluate the consequences of ever-mounting risks leading to climate change and offer scientific support in finding ways to restrain and prevent damage, losses, risks to human health, water shortages, food production challenges, environmental degradation, and depletion of natural resources.
