Round table ‘On Literary Translation’
Organised by the SASA Department of Language and Literature, the round table titled ‘On Literary Translation’ will take place on Thursday, 16 October, at the SASA Hall 3 at 11 a.m.
The event aims to highlight new critical insights drawn from diverse examples of translational theory and practice, and offer a more thorough perspective on the role and significance of literary translation in contemporary literature and culture.
The participants in this roundtable will explore different theoretical and practical aspects of literary translation in the present moment. The discussion will focus on questions such as to what extent and in what ways translation has developed since the 20th century, how works are selected for translation, how classical and canonised texts are translated compared to contemporary ones, and what specific challenges arise in translating various literary genres.
