Round table ‘Pius XII and Totalitarianism in Yugoslavia: New Perspectives’

Organised by the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, a round table ‘Pius XII and Totalitarianism in Yugoslavia: New Perspectives’will take place on 20 February, at the SASA Hall 3, at 9.30. a.m.

The Institute for Balkan Studies of SASA headed the project ‘Pope Pius XII and the Challenge of Totalitarianism in Yugoslavia, 1941–1958′, in the period between 2022 and 2024. It was funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the IDEAS programme. Research results compiled during the project have been published in two volumes, Catholic Church and Totalitarianism in Yugoslavia, 1941–1958 and Pope Pius XII and the Challenge of Totalitarianism in Yugoslavia,1941–1958, printed by the Institute.

This scientific gathering provides an opportunity to exchange views with renowned experts from Italy on recent research findings and future directions in the study of relations between the Holy See and Yugoslavia.
