SASA Corresponding Member’s Exhibition ‘The Realities of Illusion’ at the MASA Gallery

‘The realities of illusion’ is the title of the exhibition by the SASA Corresponding Member Miodrag Tabački, which officially opens on Thursday, 9 October, at 7 p.m. at the Gallery of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts in Podgorica.

The exhibition displays a representative selection from Miodrag Tabački multiannual body of work. Miodrag Tabači is a renowned set designer, costume designer, university professor and member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The exhibition will present 50 panels, each representing a year in the work of this artist. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore photographs documenting his creative process, records of set and costume designs, as well as materials illustrating his pedagogical, exhibition, and artistic achievements and numerous awards. In addition to these, drawings, paintings, and video recordings of theatre performances will also be presented.

SASA Corresponding Member Miodrag Tabački has completed more than 300 sets and 100 costumes for drama, ballet, opera and puppet productions in the former Yugoslavia, Serbia and abroad. He has received numerous accolades and is the only Serbian artist featured in the ‘World Encyclopedia of Arts and Spectacles’ of the second half of the 20th century.
