SASA Guest: Prof. Hans Hauner

As part of the SASA Guest series, Prof. Hans Hauner, member of the German national academy Leopoldina, will give a lecture titled “Personalized Nutrition for a Better Health: Where Do We Stand Now?” at the SASA Grand Hall on Thursday, September 27, at 12 o’clock. Prof. Hauner (1955) is director of the Else Kröner Fresenius nutritional medicine center, with branches at the Technical University of Munich (Technische Universität München), Klinikum Rechts der Isar, and the Weihenstephan center for life sciences and nutrition. His research includes nutrition related chronic diseases, such as obesity and Type 2 diabetes.

“On this occasion, Prof. Hauner  will be talking about a personalized approach to nutrition and also about the progress made in this field. Prof. Hauner is the editor of the leading journal on obesity, Obesity Facts, and the official spokesperson for the German network that specializes in obesity, so we have here an extremely competent lecturer and collocutor, who we expect will provide many topical facts related to the application of diet to the two major epidemics of our age, that is obesity and diabetes”, says Academician Dragan Micić, Secretary of the SASA Department of Medical Sciences and President of the Organizing Committee of the said event.
